Latest News & Writing Goals

Current Writing Goals

Dreams of meeting Clive Barker in LA or New Orleans - two cities that perfectly capture the blend of glamour and darkness that defines great horror. Also hopes to write in the atmospheric settings that inspired his favorite authors: from Robert Parker's gritty Boston streets to Stephen King's haunting Maine landscapes, Anne Rice's mystical New Orleans, and the gothic shadows of Salem.

Literary Influences: Dracula gave his dyslexic brain a headache when trying to read it younger, but the gothic visuals of Romania and Stoker's atmospheric descriptions left lasting impressions. Favorite authors include Clive Barker, Donald Hamilton, Louis L'Amour, Early King, and Early Koontz - masters who shaped his understanding of tension, character, and storytelling craft.

Upcoming Events: Book signing October 25, 2025 at Valerie Hill Vineyard & Winery near Winchester, Virginia - a perfect gothic setting in their historic 1807 Federal-style brick home.

Current Focus: Continuing to hone the balance between psychological terror and supernatural elements that made his literary heroes so compelling, while drawing inspiration from the haunting landscapes they immortalized in their works. Read more about David's writing insights and horror tips.
